The wrestling team hosted McKinney High Jan. 8 and came away with a huge 48-18 victory.

“I got a pin within the first 30-45 seconds,” junior David Beddow said. “We dominated in points.”

The team is now 2-1 in district competition.

“McKinney is in our district so I got to see the competition ahead of time,” junior Aaron Gassett said.

These varsity wrestlers also had wins to help lead the victory: Aram Amin, Gabe Casey and Zech Peltier.

“Wrestling is a one on one sport, you alone versus your opponent,” Beddow said. “I’ve played just about every other sport and wrestling is the most physically and mentally challenging.”

The JV did well also. They won all four of their matches.
