Update on Brandon Young:

Brandon Young, 20, of Wylie was involved in a tragic road rage incident that ended the lives of both 21-year-olds Thomas Allen and Tanner Williford.

The accident also involved Aaron Hunter, 21, of Wylie who was unharmed, and according to police, never made contact with the other vehicle.

In Murphy at FM 544 and Brand Road, the Nissan Altima that Williford was driving swerved out of control due to Hunter and Williford recklessly weaving through traffic at high speeds according to the City of Murphy.

The Nissan Altima hit a guard rail ejecting all three boys, killing Allen and Williford and leaving Young, the only survivor, in critical condition.

“The accident was so unexpected and heartbreaking,” senior Keana Mack, a close friend of Young said.

Young graduated with the Alpha class of 2012 at Wylie East High School. He played varsity football for three years and participated in track.

“Brandon is such a sweet guy and he’s always been very respectful,” Mack said.

Originally the death of Young’s two friends was kept from him while he was being hospitalized.

“When he first woke up he asked where they were and we just told him they were okay because we didn’t want him to worry,” Mack said.

Principal Mike Williams recalls Young’s caring nature.

“I remember at Davis Intermediate in fifth grade Brandon would always give me hugs,” Mr. Williams said.

Young was released from the hospital May 23 and is doing better now.

“Please just keep him in your prayers; he’s been through a lot,” freshman Ronald Smith said.
