St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Labor Day, etc. Holidays are nationally recognized days in which everybody decides to treat each other better. But, why should these days be any different than the average week? In answer to that question, they shouldn’t be.
On holidays, or “special days”, families get together to show appreciation to each other, neighbors smile and wave, in general, everyone is more spirited than usual. On an average day, families might not talk, neighbors drive by and the only thing that motivates them is the day to end. The little things get ignored and the main focus is at how miserable they are. Truly, everyday is special, it’s another day made without dying.
That being said, holidays are great because they come with vacations! Holidays are opportunities to meet new places, people, and to just have a good time away from home. They bring an odd sense of happiness into the environment and fill the halls with their decorative cheerfulness.
On holidays, calls are made to wish each other a good day; more care and concern for others are born. Those calls should be made on random days. Smiles should be gifted without hesitation even when it’s not a special day. Every day brings something new, everyday, not just holidays should be looked forward to with enthusiasm.
