As cooler temperatures approach many people make the switch from iced to hot drinks. However, some people prefer to drink one temperature of drinks all year long. Which is better- hot or iced?
Cooler temps call for warmer drinks. There’s no better way to beat the heat than a cool refreshing iced drink, and likewise warm drinks soothe the soul in the midst of icy temperatures. Therefore, as the weather gets colder warm drinks are better, but in the summer and spring iced take the crown.
As weather changes, we change the kind of clothes we wear, the food we eat and even the activities we do. Why shouldn’t the temperature of our drinks follow suit? Some occasions call for a cool refreshment, but others may be benefited by a warm pick-me-up. Both are great but subjective to the environment around them
From an opposing perspective, some people may not enjoy warm drinks. Warm drinks may bring back memories of being sick, or some bestselling favorites such as Starbucks refreshers may not be available warm. However, holding a freezing cup in the midst of sub-50 degree temperatures can be unsafe and warm drinks in 90 degree heat would be miserable.
A solution would be finding a delicious drink available in hot or iced varieties, such a latte or chai tea. These drinks are available hot and iced year round and can be customized to the customers’ liking. This ensures maximum enjoyment no matter the weather.
All in all, both hot and iced drinks are delicious but the deciding factor should always be the temperature outside. Hot drinks are an amazing escape in times of bitter cold, but iced are a cooling refuge in extreme heat.
