The drink of Texas
Dr. Pepper enthusiast reviews Wylie’s carbonated beverages
April 30, 2021
For some, this fizzy drink is just a special treat on cheat days, but for me, this sugary soda made in 1885 by Wade Morrison in Waco, Texas, is my fuel and runs through my veins. In my 14 years of life I have never enjoyed a drink more. When ordering at restaurants I will order Dr Pepper 99.9% of the time.
With all my experiences of this amazing substance I have noticed one flaw: They. All. Taste. Different.
Places all over Texas serve this masterpiece with different ice, carbonation levels, syrup to water ratio and of course the price varies as well. Check out my taste for the drink of Texas an a scale of 1-5 stars.
Chick-Fil-A:
Needless to say it was not my pleasure to drink you. For $2.05 it was very disappointing to try this Dr. Pepper. It tasted like root beer and was very flat. The only thing they have going for them is the ice.

Whataburger:
Whataburger has the best deal, 32 ounces for $2.08. Although Whataburger raves about their AMAZING Dr. Pepper it was not the best in Wylie. It was very carbonated compared to the others, but it was lacking in the flavor department. The ice is pretty decent, but there was more ice than Dr. Pepper.

7-Eleven:
This Dr. Pepper was an absolute disgrace. Never have I been more upset about drinking Dr. Pepper. The carbonation was not good. The flavor was horrible. The smallest size they have is a medium, WHICH DOESN’T EVEN LOOK LIKE A MEDIUM. It was the size of a kids sized drink. Although it was $0.98 it was not worth my dollar. I would never recommend 7-Eleven’s Dr. Pepper to anyone, even my worst enemies.

Sonic:
Being the drink stop of America has paid off for Sonic. They have top notch ice and great carbonation, the only downside is that it tastes like coke. Maybe that was just a one time issue, but it definitely makes a difference.

McDonalds:
I’m Lovin’ It! This Dr. Pepper was immaculate. They had the superior flavor compared to every other place in Wylie.

Each of these fast food chains has a different version of this popular drink, uniqueness isn’t always good.
