Wylie East High School may be a new school but they aren’t letting that stop them from going full force to reach their goals. The Lady Raider Soccer team made history this year by being the first team to make it to the second round of playoffs.
These girls have gone farther than any one team from this school but they don’t seem to be getting the recognition they deserve.
When football season was in full swing, the whole school was out there supporting them. Soccer has passed over them and they barely have anyone out there cheering them on. These ladies need their Raider Nation family cheering in the stands
Soccer isn’t getting the announcements that our other teams have received. They haven’t had the support from teachers, nor the jean days and pep rallies that football was given. Lady Raider soccer has risen over the standards that were given to them and some people don’t even know their accomplishment.
Football is at the beginning of the year and that’s when everyone is most excited about being back at school and coming together for their team. Football is “America’s Sport” and people of all ages love to go out and watch the games. It’s understandable how football can get excite fans.
On the other hand, the soccer teams work just as hard and play just as hard as the football team has. They are pulling through greatly without our support. Imagine the great things they could do if students were out there screaming for them. Lady Raider Soccer is leading this school on a new and exciting adventure.
Let’s make posters and paint on cars. Let’s put them all over Blue-i and make good luck announcements to them every game day. Wylie East should come together to give them the respect that they deserve and the recognition that they need.
Lady Raider Soccer is creating the path for future Raiders to follow. They are showing this school what hard work and determination can do. If you never give up and keep pushing forward, you can accomplish anything. Come on Wylie East, it’s their time to shine and we need to be the ones holding the spot light.
