Psyched up: Ms. Elise Gerard
Ms. Elise Gerard is new to the Wylie East faculty this year. She can be found in room 276, where she teaches psychology and AP Psychology. She also coaches cheer.
Where did you teach previously?
In San Antonio, at a charter school called Basis.
How long have you taught?
This is my fifth year.
What are your goals for this year?
I want to have a good relationship with my students. Of course for my AP students, I want to get them all to a three or four or hopefully a five on the AP test.
What are your hobbies?
Anything in the sun. I’ll go biking, swimming, anything that’s outside.
What inspired you to teach?
Traveling. I really just wanted to travel, and I found that I could teach English abroad, so I started teaching English in Mexico a few years ago. I found myself back here because of family reasons, and so I started teaching domestically.
What’s your favorite part about teaching?
Talking about things that I love.
QOTD: What’s your ideal vacation?
That changes all the time. Right now I’m looking into South America, Peru and Ecuador.
