At the National Dance Team Championship March 5, in Justin, Texas, the Sapphires earned high marks and won the Super Sweepstakes, Team Champion in the Large Team Prop Division and the Judges’ Award for Overall Outstanding Presentation. Continuing with winning awards, the officers brought home the Sweepstakes Title in the Officer Line Competition, Second place in Officer Novelty Division, Champion of the officer Prop division and the Judges’ Award for Overall Outstanding Showmanship. Four members; Jesslynn Grigsby, Jessica Farrias, Billie Watson and Audrey Jones, all performed solos and qualified for Division One. Audrey Jones was a Solo Finalist and won eighth place in the Grade 9/10 Solo Division. Congratulations to the Sapphires who are under the director Sarah Thompson.
