With the school year coming to a close, students experience a plethora of differing emotions. Seniors are anticipating their last days of high school, planning their future, preparing for adulthood. Juniors are mentally preparing for their last year of high school and excited to chase their dreams. Sophomores are ready to have early release and drive around. And freshmen are excited to not be the school babies anymore. Nonetheless, summer is approaching, and many students are thrilled to be out of school for the upcoming summer.
“The best part of senior year was going off campus with my friends during power hour,” senior Kobe Hernandez said. “After I graduate, I plan to go to trade school and become an electrician.”
For seniors the end of the year is the most special time for them. Their last high school classes, their last days and their last moments of childhood. With graduation looming closer each day, seniors are ready to enter the new chapter of their lives.
“I plan on attending the University of North Texas,” senior Addison Oxley said. “I’m really excited to be able to say that I graduated.”
The seniors have lots of amazing memories from the past four years. The valedictorian of the Class of 2025 is Leon Le, who is planning on going to University of Texas to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business management and finance.
“It is an honor to be granted this title and a relief that my efforts have paid off,” Le said. “I believe that my legacy will live on through the many memories I’ve been a part of these four years. If you have the thought of ‘wanting’ to do something– do it. You only have four years. Focus on your studies to better your knowledge and the foundations, but also focus on your extracurriculars even more so.”
No matter what Class of 2025’s plans are, the students have spent the past four years getting ready for this moment. And one thing is for sure– they’re going to go far.
“Build up your character and it will give you the opportunity to create an impact.” Le said. “And the legacy you left in people’s hearts will remain.”
