The annual homecoming parade is Monday, Oct. 14, WISD’s Fair Day, at 6:30 p.m. on Ballard street in downtown Wylie. Each year Student Council members put on the event. They are seeking entries for the parade from clubs, groups and organizations. Local businesses are also invited to participate.

The theme for the 2019 homecoming parade is Lights, Camera, RAIDERS: movies, music videos, ballet, theatrical performances.

“We really encourage you to participate in this theme for your parade entry,” Student Council sponsor Breegan Gholson said, “but any production-related theme goes.”

Floats and entries will be judged on creativity, clear theme, interactions with the crowd, neatness and enthusiasm.

To participate in the parade, fill out and submit the WEHS Parade Participant Registration Form by Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Sapphire Loni Gentry-Yzaguirre – “A float in the shape of a Sapphire.”

Blue i News member Elizabeth Thomas – “Demonstrate cinematography behind horror movies.”

Band extraordinaire Brenda Reyes – “I feel like it would be based off our show this year so like a mass and media and masquerade and then a cube.”

Choir aficionado Brittany Erwin – “It could be centered around the Ignite theme and we could build something to represent that, like a flame or we could build a music note thing.”
