In the past, scholarships have been an annoyance compared to this new easy scholarship website that Wylie ISD had produced. It allows students to sign up, select all the scholarships you are eligible for at once and apply for them all with the click of a button.

“Wylie ISD scholarships are available from community and school organizations to East and High seniors. The chance of winning is much higher because the only applicants are from wylie schools,” counselor Mrs. Whittle said.

All seniors have to do it set up a username and password at the link posted on the campus and district websites: https://wylieisd.eformsolutions.com/wylieisd/scholarships and have your ranking, GPA, SAT/ACT scores and FAFSA EFC readily avilable, (so you will needed to have completed FAFSA before completing the local scholarship application in order to have this information) intended college(s), major(s), school activities, community activities, names and emails of references (Wylie East).

“There are a multitude of local scholarships coming from different clubs, elementary schools or community and school organizations,” said Whittle.

There are three general essays for all applicants as well as additional scholarship specific essays for applicants who meet certain criteria. You can contact your counselor for help with the local scholarship process. The scholarship window closes at 11:59 p.m. March 6.

“I highly encourage all seniors to apply for the local scholarships,” Whittle said. “Recipients will be notified at senior night in May.”
