Entries for the 2016 homecoming parade are due Oct. 11. This year’s theme is “Raiders Cruise to Victory.”

Students will “cruise for victory” with the homecoming parade Oct. 17.

Anyone can submit their own float and the deadline to enter is Oct.10.

“We are making our own float and it’s going to be Hawaiian themed,” Stuco member Anika Tasnim said.

The Student Council is planning the cruise-themed event.

“On the 16th we are decorating downtown Wylie and after the parade, we will go back to clean it,” Tasnim said.

The parade is in downtown Wylie on Ballard street.

“It was really fun and a really great event for school spirit,” freshman Avery Pulley said about last year’s homecoming parade.

Students can also show their school spirit by dressing up for homecoming week. Monday, Oct. 17 is travel day. Students are to dress comfortably (PJ’s). Tuesday, Oct. 18 is excursion day. Students may wear appropriate beach attire. Then Wednesday, Oct. 19 is day at the sea with travel buddies where students should match their “cruise entourage”. Thursday, Oct. 20 is excursion, tour of the island. Tacky tourist attire is requested. Finally, Friday, Oct. 21 is back to the port, where students should dress in Raider spirit wear.

Students can also attend the Homecoming dance which will take place Oct. 22 from 6:30-10 p.m.
