It is that time of year again. Yearbook senior quotes are due Oct. 30. These are quotations seniors may choose that will run next to their senior portrait in the yearbook.

Seniors are encouraged to find a quote that expresses who they are or has meaning to their life. To submit a senior quote, go to http://goo.gl/forms/r3Db5eEyZs. Fliers with the QR code and a URL are also displayed in the 800 and 900 halls.

“If you choose to quote someone famous you must attribute them or it is plagiarism,” yearbook adviser Casi Thedford said.

Throughout the years the quotes have gotten more inappropriate and Thedford is close to getting rid of them all together.

“I would prefer we list the organizations and sports students are involved in instead,” Thedford said. “Many advisers have stopped including senior quotes because they can land your yearbook on the news, and not in a good way.”

Students who submit inappropriate quotes will be turned into the assistant principals to be dealt with.

“Quotes are more of a privilege than a necessity,” Jessica Blakeley, yearbook assistant editor in chief, said.

This year, students are asked to submit their quotes online. The deadline to submit is Oct. 30. Senior quotes are optional and there is no charge to submit one.

“When people go and make their quotes lewd, it makes it unenjoyable for the people who want to include a meaningful quote,” Blakeley said.
