Money still needed to fund senior trip to Main Event
April 16, 2015
Each year the senior class takes a trip to Main Event Entertainment after graduation rehearsal at Allen Event Center. This is one last chance for the senior class to relax and hang out as a student body.
However, the money to fund this trip is still needed.
The Senior Parent Committee of 2015 is hosting an auction to help with the cost of the Main Event trip.
Nobue Jansen, president of the Parent Teacher Student Association, encourages community members to bid on items in the auction to help fund the Main Event outing.
The online auction can be accessed at http://ptawylieeast.com/auction/.
The auction ends May 1 at 6 p.m. Half of the proceeds will be allocated for the seniors’ “Main Event.”
Items up for bid are tickets for the best seats in the house at graduation, season tickets to Raider varsity football games and yearbooks.
“I’m looking forward to laser tag,” senior Mayat Nooner said. “They also might be handing out prizes and it’s a time where we can skip school.”
The other half of proceeds from the auction will go to the PTSA scholarship fund and other PTSA sponsored events.
“I think it’s important for us to go to Main Event,” senior Tanner Smithson said. “It allows us to bond one last time before we go our separate ways.”
Even if funds are not met, seniors will still be able to go. Fewer funds only means fewer prizes given away at Main Event.
“It’s a tradition for seniors to go to Main Event. We have been looking forward to this for the past four years,” senior Ellie Jurden said. “We get to spend time together one last time and that’s important to me.”
