Senior Chris Vaughan has been playing video games since he was 4 years old, and this has led him to construct a video game now that he is 17.
Vaughan was granted with a $500,000 grant from big name companies such as Sony and Unreal Games to create his passion, a video game, in three years.
“My first video game was Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo 64. Ever since then I have been playing Nintendo games like Mario, Zelda, Meriod and Yoshi,” senior Chris Vaughan said.
His life experiences have led to the game development.
“It makes my ideas come to life in a video game so people can enjoy those ideas,” Vaughan said.
Vaughan was accepted into Full Sail University.
“I found the opportunity to make video games once I was accepted into Full Sail, which is the number one gaming school in the United States,” Vaughan said.
Vaughan already has his video game planned out and ready to make, he is just waiting to receive the money to create it.
“The Video Game is about an old 80s TV show called ‘Captain N.’ The game takes place in the year 2018 as Captain N’s grandson, Kyle Kenee, is the next game master,” Vaughan said.
Vaughan is taking this old show and giving it a new twist.
“Kyle Kenee is a 16 year old high school kid who has just moved into a new house in White Park, Florida,” Vaughn said. “While he is unpacking he finds an old N.E.S and hooks it up to his TV and finds out that the video game world is in trouble and it is his job to fix it.”
