Giving supplies to the homeless. Helping at block parties. Entertaining kids. The Interact Club stays busy year round with fun and helpful service projects.
Wylie East Interact started in the summer of 2010. Sponsor Dalila Bruner says the Interact Club is involved with helping with many activities this year and they just keep on coming.
“I feel blessed to be part of a very successful organization with great students,” Bruner said.
Junior Jorge Perez enjoys all of the service projects that they do in the club, especially getting to use his artistic skills and face paint on the elementary students’ cheeks.
“Interact students helped at the Akin lock-in. It was my favorite event this year so far,” Perez said.
Interact students go out and volunteer at elementary schools. They help with haunted houses, and they also get to help with games and other fun activities.
“My favorite event that we do would be when we volunteer at Davis’ haunted house,” sophomore Kaylah Bruner said.
Students can watch them at some of their upcoming events, which involve getting to meet and greet some of the students from Davis Intermediate and also helping at block parties.
“If you are thinking about joining you should because it is so much fun. It is not all that serious, and the activities are really great,” Kaylah said.
