Students have been offered the chance to wear alternate dress by competing against Wylie High in a toy drive.
This drive is sponsored by Students of Change, an outside of school, non-profit organization that helps the community.
Students are asked to bring toys that will go to Wylie Children’s Clinic.
“We will be giving the toys to the families that go to the clinic,” senior Brooke Lopez said. Lopez is a sponsor for Students of Change along with the others from Wylie High and Wylie East.
This competition will be held all week of the East vs. High game, Sept.30 through Oct. 4. There will be tables in every lunch period that will accept the toys.
Toys must be sturdy and not have many small pieces that can be a hazard to children.
Items requested are:
-Colorful print Band Aids
-Stuffed Animals
-Children’s Books
-Blankets
-Coloring Books
-Crayons
-Markers
-Children’s socks
-Stickers (in a package)
-Infant Pajamas
-Sturdy Plastic Toys
Whichever school that brings the most toys gets a day of free dress.
“It’s a healthy competition, no matter who wins it’s all for a good cause,” Lopez said.
