Junior donates more than 10 inches of hair to Locks of Love
For some students high school is the worst thing they go through. However some teenagers have to battle cancer and attend high school while undergoing treatments.
Adrianna Breuer’s donations all started with her cousin, Jared, who was diagnosed with T-cell Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“It hit me hard when my mom told me about Jared,” Breuer said. “I wanted to do something to give back, so I decided to start donating.”
Breuer’s hair went through a drastic change. Most of her friends were shocked at what she did, but supported her cause.
“I was working at Pei Wei and she came in,” senior and ROTC friend of Breuer’s, Jeremy Muncy said. “I just remember thinking it looked really good.”
Breuer doesn’t stop there though. She plans on volunteering in other places to touch more lives.
“It’s nice to donate and give to those who are less fortunate,” Breuer said. “I plan on volunteering at the animal shelter near Wylie Stadium.”
Breuer plans to keep growing her hair out and giving back to the community and supporting people in their battle against cancer.
“This is a great cause and for Audriana to continue to think of others before herself is exactly the things we try to teach in AFJROTC,” Colonel Wayne Wilbanks said.
