Posters, paint and balloons. Is what helped the freshman win the decorating contest that resulted in a jean day.
This year, the student council came up with the idea of decorating the walls to lift school spirit for homecoming. Each class had a different wall theme that matched the spirit days.
“The freshman theme is Fireman and Police heroes, sophomores are sports, juniors are army, seniors are super heroes,” freshman Abbey Burge said.
On Sunday, all classes came up to the school with their game faces on. The freshman hallway had fireman and police posters everywhere with balloons hanging from the balcony. The wall decorating is for spirit, but it is also a little friendly competition.
“I think that the freshmen have a disadvantage in the competition because we are the youngest, but I know we can do it,” Burge said.
All the students who participated worked very hard and said the most challenging part was painting.
“I think we should carry on this tradition because it gets everyone together to have a good time and make memories,” Burge said.
