Ayomide Olajimi: Class of 2014

After graduating in 2014, Ayomide “Paul” Olajimi attended Lubbock Christian University where he studied advertising. Throughout university, Ayo developed a passion for Media Production, and ever since has used his advertising skills and artistic abilities to expand his production company “Ayomedia.”

What five words describe you in high school?

Creative, Goofy, Arrogant, Outgoing, and Loud 

What activities were you involved in in high school?

I ran track, played soccer, and football. 

What were your main takeaways from high school?

What you get accomplished in high school can set you up for success or failure in the years afterwards. It’s solely your choice. “You reap what you sow” is my biggest lesson learned. 

Do you have any friends or teachers that you stay in touch with from high school?

I do not, but I occasionally run into some at grocery stores or WEHS events. It’s always nice catching up. 

What five words describe yourself after university?

Creative, Ambitious, Confident, Adaptable, and Reserved

What do you most value from your college experience?

Future consequences are inevitably shaped by present actions. What I value most is learning that there’s no shortcuts to success. One must focus,cut out the distractions/temptations and put the work in. Discipline is the ultimate freedom. 

What’s next for you?

I’m currently getting into Tech and hoping to land a new UI/UX position in Dallas. All while furthering the growth of my production company “Ayomedia”. 

How have your plans for the future changed since high school?

Initially I believed I’d be married with kids by now, but that is the last priority on my to do list. I also pictured myself being a full time artist, opposed to shifting focus into Advertising and Media Production. 

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?  

In 10 years, I see myself running a successful production company that will allow me to be my own boss.
