What five words describe you in high school?

Organized, Focused, Spunky, Book-smart and Funny.

What activities were you involved in in high school?

Yearbook, BPA, UIL, NHS. I also worked at the Wylie Starbucks.

Ever get in trouble in high school?

Once in Ms. Cheng’s geometry class for doing world history homework. Almost never other than that.

Favorite high school memory?

I worked on the yearbook staff all four years of my high school career. I loved spending time in Mrs. Thedford’s room designing/editing and creating memorable keepsakes for the school to save for years to come. We had tons of fun games, special events and just sitting in the yearbook room hanging out.

What did you do after high school?

I went to Oklahoma State University where I studied Marketing and International Business. I was able to join a sorority, study abroad and make lifelong friends. I graduated in 2016, and moved to Houston to work for Frito-Lay.

Lesson you learned in college you wish you knew in high school?

Focus on finding what drives you–being passionate about the career you choose or classes you take is the only way to stay sane and keep yourself fulfilled. Remember to “refill your glass” by doing things you love, or you’ll wear yourself down and forget the things that make the headaches of life worth it.

Advice for current high school students?

Be kind to yourself! Many of us are our own biggest critics. High school is hard enough without your own self-doubt.

If you could do something over again, what would it be and why?

I honestly wouldn’t change much, because even though times have been hard, I know everything I’ve done and gone through have made me who I am today.

What’s next for you?

I will continue to advance my career at Frito-Lay, grow my family and do things I love- like travel the world.

What reaction would your high school self have if you could tell her what you are up to now?

My high school self would be proud to see the career and life I have built for myself.
