Git down \\ Following through on their challenge to the Sapphires, the administration, including Mrs. Tiffany Doolan, throwdown to the Git Up Challenge, popularized by Tik Tok. Doolan is the new Associate Principal, coming from Birmingham Elementary. “What’s really important to me is building strong relationships with the teachers and the students. I try to be visible and out of my office every chance I get, so I can welcome the staff and students,” Mrs. Doolan said.

Second in command: Tiffany Doolan

Mrs. Tiffany Doolan took Mrs. Janet Wyatt’s position when she left for Achieve.

How was the transition from Birmingham Elementary to Wylie East High School? What are some unexpected differences?

It’s funny; the things that are different are obvious, but the similarities are what were unexpected—the love for learning and the way teachers connect with their students.

Have you seen some of your previous students on this campus?

This year’s freshmen were fourth graders during my first year at Birmingham Elementary, so I actually have seen some.

What were some worries you had before you started working here and how did you overcome them?

What’s really important to me is building strong relationships with the teachers and the students. I try to be visible and out of my office every chance I get, so I can welcome the staff and students.

You’ve worked in Wylie for more than a decade. So what does being the Wylie Way mean to you?

The first word that comes to my mind is family. Wanting to protect, love, do whatever it takes to have what they need to be successful.

What’s your favorite type of food? Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner?

So for breakfast I love biscuits and gravy. Such a good comfort food. Then, for lunch I love a classic peanut butter and JAM sandwich. Jelly is clumpy but jam is spreadable. Finally, for dinner, I would never pass up on the opportunity to have Mexican food.
