The varsity and junior varsity Winterguard prepare for various competitions throughout the spring season.

“I love when we find out what our show is going to be,” Anna Wygant, senior captain said.

Both winterguard teams are under the direction of Lauren Potter, Seth Thomas and Katie Morris.

The varsity team’s show is Louis Armstrong inspired. And the JV team’s show is called “Up, Up, and Away.”

“My favorite part about our show is that it is upbeat and fun to perform,” Wygant said.

The outcomes of the scores of the performances the Winterguard teams have previously competed have been high. Varsity placed first in their category and JV placed fifth in their category at Frisco Centennial High School.

“I expect us to do our best, like we always do (in future competitions),” senior Lester Monsey said.

The varsity Winterguard team will compete in “Winterguard International,” at the UNT collegium March 12.

“I can’t wait to compete in the WGI circuit again. We haven’t competed with them since my freshman year and I love competing with a different set of competition,” Wygant said.
