Stuck in high school?

At the beginning of the school year, every morning when the bedroom light went on, we got up and got ready, but more and more that light gives us less and less motivation.

Everyone is losing zzz’s, losing interest and, honestly, losing their mind. We have gotten to the point of the school year that everything is settling down and starting back up again, there is so much going on that we are all overwhelmed and don’t know what to do next. The thought light bulbs are starting to dim and the drive to learn is nearly gone. Where do we go from here? We’re in high school, halfway through the semester. Great, what now?

This part of the semester is a lull, with winter and Thanksgiving breaks just around the corner, it’s really hard to focus on the next few days and all the things that have to get done. We all have those days where we get home and don’t want to do anything.

It’s getting colder and harder to drag ourselves out of bed and haul ourselves to school to make our brains hurt as facts are being poured into them. Some days it’s difficult to remember what we are doing here. Keep in mind what we are working towards: that high school diploma and the skills that will help us survive in college.

There is light at the end of the tunnel so on those mornings that you just don’t feel well or the school is the last place on earth that you want to be, remember that every day you waste is a day that will hurt you later on.

Try to focus and push through the hard times Raiders. It has to get better before the end and if it’s not better it’s not the end.

See you on the other side!
