After many blockouts, baskets and being aggressive, the freshman girls basketball team has come to an end.

They team had a total of 12 girls. Freshman Montse Gonzalez’s greatest achievement was shooting a three pointer and helping her team get more points.

“I helped my team with that three pointer and I was so proud of myself for that,” Gonzalez said.

When the team loses a game, Coach Jeff Scales reminds them to always communicate with each other, go in for a lay up and block out, which means to push girls out of their way.

“Every girl has her own strength. We put them all together when playing on the court so we do as best as we possibly can,” freshman Tori Smith said.

Although this was a winless season, their coaches would encourage them to do better in the next game.

“Most people don’t know that we put a lot of sweat, pain and hard work into the sport that we love,” Gonzalez said.
