Amira Coleman, a four year Raider track member, signed to go to Oklahoma State University May 28.

Coleman was joined on the auditorium stage by the track team, her family and her coaches.

Oklahoma State University is a Division 1 Big 12 school.

“Amira will leave here holding five school records. She helped us get the team championship trophy,” track and field coach Jason Olford said.

I love my coach at OSU. He’s very open and he talks about God, so he motivates me spiritually and physically. He’s always motivating me to never lose heart and to always work hard.

At the signing, Coleman was joined by alumni Kylie Nodorft and Sarah Scott who also signed for track and field last school year.

“I’m very excited for her and the opportunity she now has,” Nodorft said.

After eating cake and mingling with all of her attendees, Coleman had time to unwind and talk about meeting her dreams.

“It’s always been my dream to sign to a D1 school for track and I’m finally doing it,” Coleman said. “The hard work really paid off”.

Coleman said she is grateful to have the chance to leave a legacy at this school and is grateful for her new track family.

“I love my coach at OSU. He’s very open and he talks about God, so he motivates me spiritually and physically. He’s always motivating me to never lose heart and to always work hard,” Coleman said.

She has influenced athletes on her team and has impacted the lives of so many people in and out of school.

“I’m so blessed to get a scholarship for OSU and I’m so glad that I never gave up,” Coleman said.
