Let’s have a picnic

You take a long look at the blue sky, white clouds, and green grass, but you watch it behind an invisible force known as a window while digging your spoon in what seems to be a mushy mess of ravioli. You sigh longing for a cool breeze and some fresh air. What you really want is to have lunch outside.

It’s a nice opportunity to have lunch where you can eat and talk, skip from table to table, and finish homework you never wanted to touch at home. For example you could be kicking a ball across the beautiful green grass, running with friends, or even better, relaxing and feeling the nice breeze on your face (yeah, I exaggerate this kind of thing)  during lunch. But no, you are condemned to the lunch room with loud talkative kids because it seems the person who makes the school rules decided not to let the student body go outside for lunch.

In some ways I see why we don’t eat outside, but that doesn’t mean the entire student body. Some students deserve it more than others such as the junior class (the closest thing we have to a senior class) or straight-A students, you know, the very trustworthy students. It would surely be a privilege for them and possibly a way to get students to improve in their classes.

There are reasons why they won’t allow this. First, keep in mind that we don’t have seniors and we are still a growing school. Going outside for lunch could be a privilege for seniors and we also don’t have many tables outside, so where would they eat at?

The juniors should at least be allowed to eat outside and as time changes and the school grows, let the lower classes at least chill outside during lunch- with the teachers watching over them, of course. It will be a real treat to students to finally get out of the school for some fresh air.
