I’ve been missing the sun these last couple of gloomy days. Which is why the song When the day met the night comes to mind. I know that I, for one, will be listening to it so I will be reminded of when the sun used to shine.

I love how the song symbolizes how much someone can change by finding or doing something they love.

The song is about Ryan Ross meeting a background dancer and falling in love. The lyrics include, “In the summer,” implying that he fell in love when the weather was nice and the bees were buzzing.  Panic at the Disco (P!ATD) is known as one of the most popular punk pop bands. Lead singer Brendon Urie is now the only remaining member and keeps the music flowing.

The tone of his music always ranges between happy and upbeat to depressing and slow but is always enjoyable.

When the Day Met the Night is a song about the moon who finally falls in love with the sun. The moon is compared to a man who couldn’t find happiness and the sun is compared to a girl who was always very happy and loving. The song is upbeat and positive. Even if you don’t like punk music, you will probably like When the Day Met the Night because the album it is included on is called Pretty odd and sounds more like the Beatles.

Urie and his former bandmates, Ryan Ross and Dallon Weekes, sang the song about Ross’s ex-girlfriend Keltie Colleen. He fell in love with Keltie when he felt alone and his world was then turned upside down and full of happiness. Ross was grateful to have her. I absolutely love When the Day Met the Night because it symbolizes a Romeo and Juliet kind of love.

The lyrics include, “When the moon fell in love with the sun. Always Golden in the sky,” to show that the moon found love and knew that he could have happiness.

The song will not be for everyone but if you give it a chance you might just like it. I love how the song  symbolizes how much someone can change by finding or doing something they love. The lyrics also include, “When the moon found the sun, he looked like he was barely hanging on, but her eyes saved his life in the middle of summer,” to show that he didn’t think his life would have any sunshine until he met a girl as bright as the sun.

On spotify the song When the Day Met the Night has 123,558 followers. It is definitely a relatable song. I can see why there are so many. The album Pretty Odd was one of the most popular albums made by Panic at the Disco. I will definitely be giving other songs on the album such as, Nine in the Afternoon and Behind the Sea a listen. I know that I’ll listen to When the Day Met the Night at least twice today.
