All time low school spirit at games

Sitting and visiting with friends seems to be the only activity going on in the stands during football games this year. Football players, teachers, cheerleaders and parents have seen the school spirit be at its all-time low and have called it to the student section’s attention.

Students complain about the games being no fun but they are the ones not getting into the game. The students should be the ones cheering on their peers on their field. Instead they’re the ones sitting and showing no emotion in the stands.

Football players complain on Twitter on how disappointed in the school’s spirit they are this year. They state that the students make no effort into cheering them on and how the student section looks dead in the stands. Cheerleaders making an effort to pump up the crowd get nothing in return from their peers. Cheering on the players, win or lose, should be a big part of the game, not just socializing.

Although it seems unlikely for the football players to hear anyone shouting when they’re all the way down on the field. If enough people shout and have signs they can hear and notice the school’s spirit. The football players shouldn’t look up in the stands and see people sitting and not paying attention to the game. If they look up to the stands and see people standing and cheering them on it will motivate them to wreck the other team.

Instead of sitting around talking with friends, students should stand up with their friends and cheer on the team. There is no need for the players to be disappointed in school spirit. Students standing will motivate the players more than students sitting.

Students need to start making signs and noise makers to cheer on the players. The cheerleaders shouldn’t be the only ones yelling. Making the football players proud of the student sections, should be the goal of all students.
