Cashin’ out on a concert

Maybe it’s not my weekend, but it’s going to be my year…

Concerts ticket expenses can add up when more than one band comes to town in the same month.  All Time Low on the second, South by So What on the twenty-fifth, and every other artist coming to town, who has money to buy tickets for even one concert?

Concerts are getting more and more expensive with each band getting bigger and bigger in popularity. Purchasing these tickets can cost a lot of money on their own, but then you have to pay for transportation, merchandise and other things available at the concert. Yes it helps support the band’s expenses, but is there a way we can all support them and save a couple bucks at the same time?

With all of the ways to raise money with merchandise, food, drinks and VIP backstage passes, bands should lower the cost of tickets so that the fans can actually have enough money to buy merch and food at the shows. The band would have no problem selling out the venue if the tickets were just a little bit cheaper. Everyone would still have a fun time, and this would bring in more fans.

I myself am constantly saving up money for the next upcoming concerts, working 4-5 times a week to insure that I will have enough to buy merchandise.  If I’m spending all of my money on the tickets alone, how can I support the bands in other ways if I have no money left over? I want to enjoy the concert, not obsess over having enough money or not buying a bracelet or food.

Hi! I’m Alyssa (:  I love taking pictures and going to concerts.  My dream job is to be like Bryan Stars.  I play guitar and I interview bands. I’ve lived in Texas my whole life, and I don’t plan on staying here after high school.  I plan on being a photographer, taking pictures of concerts.  I really love Tumblr.  I love tattoos and piercings, I’m kind of weird but I like it. I really wish my hair was blue.  My favorite band is Pierce the veil or Breathe Carolina.  I love kittehs: 3
