Animal cruelty needs to stop

Recently, there was a case of a puppy set on fire because a few teenagers wanted a good laugh and figured it would be funny. The dog reportedly had no name but was being called Justice because of the justice he deserves. Police found the teenagers responsible that a witness said ‘used lighter fluid and a cigarette to set the puppy on fire’. The puppy suffered its last days then died on Friday.

People need to understand that although some animals are dangerous they do not deserve to be treated in torturous ways.  The American Humane Association claims that 70 percent of animal abusers also had records for other crimes. These same teenagers had previously set another dog on fire a year ago.

A witness reported that she ran after the puppy with a tee-shirt and water bottle to help distinguish the fire. She then called 911. The police said that no ordinary shelter could help such a severe case so they took the puppy to a more intensive care shelter.

There is no excuse for these types of inhumane acts. If children start performing these horrific acts now, in the future they could potentially hurt other citizens or classmates.

People should become more aware of what is considered abuse to animals. Parent should keep a more careful eye on what their children are doing.

Awareness must be raised and justice must be served for any animal that is under torturous circumstances. No animal should ever be abused and people who think it is okay should be put in their place and know that what they’re doing is wrong and cruel.  The laws regarding animal cruelty should be tougher and punishment should be more consequential. People should treat their animals more humanely and justice should be served for Justice.
