Terrorist is finally exterminated

A decade ago, the U.S. faced one of the worst terrorist attacks to ever stumble across America. Osama Bin Laden was responsible for the organization of the September 11 attacks on the United States which resulted in heavy casualties. He was on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list for the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings. Even though he has become a hunted man, he is a man nevertheless.

On May 2, 2011, Bin Laden was shot and killed inside a secured private residential compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, by U.S. Navy SEALs in an operation ordered by U.S. President Barack Obama. Shortly after the shooting, Bin Laden’s body was buried at sea. One question remains on many civilians’ mind now; why now?

Shortly after his death, Obama addressed the nation to thank Americans for the pursuit of Bin Laden and applauded the ones involved in the mission. He administrated the order for a small team of Americans to take custody of Bin Laden.

The announcement comes nearly a decade after the 2001 terror attacks that triggered the Afghanistan war and started a tireless hunt for Bin Laden, the Al-Qaeda leader. In recent years, the hunt had intensified, but why has Bin Laden finally been killed after a decade since the attack? There are more questions than answers in concerns to Osama and his death. One source said officials are concerned Bin Laden’s death could incite violence or terrorist acts against U.S. personnel overseas. The man was a mass murderer for his actions, but he was human. Can the U.S. be justified in their actions to kill the man when so many had done something similar to other countries?

Americans can rejoice in the fact that the man responsible for many families to lose a loved one is finally gone. Bin Laden’s death is a satisfactory revenge for many and signifies that the U.S. is stronger than ever and could possibly be overcoming the crisis of the economy with this tidbit of good fortune.

The military personnel have banned any comment on opinion of matter concerning Osama Bin Laden. Doubt has been planted into the minds of many as to just what was the gain for killing Bin Laden now of all times. Americans deserve to know the reason behind the attack, seeing as Bin Laden is still a human being even though he took so many others’ lives.

Bin Laden’s death could cause unwanted attacks to fall upon the U.S. and the method used to kill him was not pleasant. The fact that the U.S. killed a man and encourages the civilians to celebrate is alright. What should not be alright is that the U.S. killed Bin Laden on the spot and did not put him behind inescapable bars instantly. The words “you do the crime, you do the time” was definitely not put into place in this particular case. Justice isn’t truly served if the man died before he could try for remorse. Even though he probably wouldn’t regret his actions, he had an instant merciful death rather than paying for his crimes. By killing him instantly, the U.S. military is basically contradicting their morals.
