Will you? // Students find unique ways to ask dates to homecoming. Freshman Hayden Huckabee used freshman Ashton Huff’s favorite food in his ‘hoco proposal.’

Freshman Hayden Huckabee got down on his knees and something round appeared, it wasn’t a ring, but a box of donuts.

Freshmen Ashton Huff was surprised when her friends and boyfriend surrounded her with a mysterious box of donuts. She thought it may have been a birthday gift or an early Christmas gift, but it was a proposal to homecoming.

I couldn’t have wanted him to ask me anyway else because I love my donuts and he made my heart so happy and cozy.

“I couldn’t contain the excitement I was feeling inside. I just couldn’t believe my eyes when he opened up the box, and I saw all my friends filming beside me,” Huff said

To get such a proposal together it didn’t take much. It only took the help of two of Huff’s friends.

“I’m glad I had the most amazing friends to put together such a great day and I’m glad about having the most amazing girl to ask to be my date,” Huckabee said.

The proposal took place Sept. 19 in the cafeteria.  Once she got the box and flipped it open it read out, “Donuts are round. Holes are too and I need to go to hoco with you.”  She immediately said ‘yes’ and danced in excitement.

“I couldn’t have wanted him to ask me anyway else because I love my donuts and he made my heart so happy and cozy,” Huff said

Their further plans are to watch the football game and dance the night away together at the homecoming dance Oct. 21.
