Three students make Region Choir

Five students auditioned Oct. 10 for a place in one of three Texas Music Educators Association Region Choirs.

“I’m really excited that I get a chance to be in the region choir and represent our school,” senior Clay Mobley said.

Of the five, Jordan Meyer placed in the freshman mixed choir and both Clay Mobley and Randy Points placed in the top ranked mixed choir. All three of them will perform with the region choirs at Allen High School Oct. 31. Clay, a bass, and Randy, a tenor, earned the additional honor going on to the next round of auditions.

“We wish these two young men the best of luck,” Choir Director Berrier said.

Two more auditions are possible before securing a spot in the Texas All State Choir. All of the choir members will have the chance to try and make the All State Choir.

“I am incredibly proud of these students,” Berrier said. “All my students are learning exactly what it takes to compete with much larger programs. All 16 of the East students who started this process Oct. 6 will have improved vocally for themselves and our choir department.”
