Welding students build Raider emblem to present to school

Three welding students took on a large project starting in April. Seniors Noah Mills, Brent Bennett and Jesse Ford welded the Raider emblem in their welding class.

“It was a good project,” Ford said. “It helped us learn the true value of team work.”

It took the boys two weeks to accomplish and complete this project.

“We actually got it done by the end of school,” Ford said. “It made me feel accomplished.”

The students used a design cut by CNC plasma cutter. They then painted it and finished by welding it together.

“I hope this encourages school spirit,” Mills said.

Mr. Tony Roseberry, the welding teacher, wanted to do a project that would become part of the school.

“It gives students a way to feel connected,” Roseberry said.

The finished prodcut will be placed on the film tower that overlooks the football field.

“They can come back years from now and see something that they did,” Roseberry said.
