Dance Until W.E. Drop

Gatsby-themed prom

As graduation approaches, the senior class embarked on another memorable time in their lives Saturday, May 10. The junior and senior prom took place at Southfork Ranch.

The prom theme, voted on by the senior class, was The Great Gatsby’s Dance Until We Drop. Mrs. Lindsay, one of the senior English teachers, oversaw the entire event. She did everything from finding a location to making sure every last detail was perfect.

“I thought it was really planned out,” senior Reagan Bradshaw said. “I really appreciate all of Mrs. Lindsay’s hard work.”

Every year, a prom king and queen are voted on by the other attendees. The two seniors that were chosen this year were Gabriel Hernandez and Kylie Nodorft.

“I’m glad my peers think highly enough of me to have me chosen as King,” senior Gabe Hernandez said. “It’s a big blessing and an enormous privilege. I only hope it inspires people to reach out and be examples of their own.”

Between the decorations and spending time with friends, the students all enjoyed prom. Thanks to Mrs. Lindsay and everyone else who helped oversee the event, the seniors were granted with one more night to remember.

“I had a great time. My favorite part was getting to dance once last time with all of the people that I may never see again after high school,” Senior Hai Phan said.
