Student writes book

Most students  feel accomplished just for passing the intense math test or getting through the day without getting caught for being out of dress code. Senior Andrew Belgard is not in anyway like most students. Belgard has something bigger to be proud of. He holds his greatest accomplishment this far in his life to be his TPSP project, writing his novel Elfwood.

“My novel, Elfwood, should hopefully be published as an eBook sometime in June or July,” Belgard said.

Though the novel was the subject of his project for TPSP this year, it was not completed during the two semester class. Elfwood, a work three years in the making, has undergone many changes, some drastic and some minimal.

“Before, I wanted it to be titled The Girl in the Black Hood, but there were some issues with getting that title,” Belgard said.

Though the end product is something to be admired by all, it was a long road filled with rewrites, many edits and extended periods of writer’s block.

“I was stuck on page 169 for over a year!” Belgard said.

Belgard hints that this novel is only the first in what promises to be an interesting and exciting series of books that will follow his main character, Raven Parker, until the end.

The road ahead for Raven is paved with many difficulties, hazards, and troubles. She’ll have to fight for a world that disapproves of her existence and save the people she once despised. She’ll have to end World War III, protect humanity, and bring The Order to its knees. And in her story, Elfwood is just the beginning.
