ROTC goes to competition

ROTC goes to competition

Wylie East High School AFJROTC competed against 14 teams from all over Texas this past Saturday in the McNeil High School Drill Meet. Over 30 cadets made the trip and competed in numerous events.

The teams were lead by Cadet Captain Maytin Tintamusik, honor guard overall team commander. He also commanded the armed Exhibition team that won third place.

The rifle team dual of Maytin Tintamusik and JC Bernarte brought home second place.

The female physical fitness team made up of Marissa Gentry-Yzaguirre, Jamie Heuer, Alexis Sublett and Claire Bernarte also won second place; the male team tied for fifth place. The Physical Fitness team is commanded by Cadet Jeremiah Barnor. The saber duo of Bryce Marshall and Dolton Ethridge placed third; Cadet Ethridge also placed third in Saber Individual.

Other teams competing were the unarmed team that placed fifth in unarmed exhibition. They were led by Cadet Jamie Heuer, the Saber Team lead by Cadet Ethridge placed sixth in regulation and the Color Guard commanded by Alex Rosales placed sixth.

The team will travel to Corsicana April 16 for their last competition of the year.
